Little Neighbor People

Sometime last week I'm cleaning up in the house when I hear a knock at the door. I've never heard a knock at our door before so I see this as kind of strange. I go to the door and see the sleeve of a little boys army coat...hmm..
Last week when I lost Boo I walked around to all our close neighbors rather late in the evening, knocked on their doors, introduced myself as the new neighbor and asked if they had seen the dog. Our two neighbors very near to us were very sweet people and I hope I can have that nice neighborly relationship that everyone hopes for.
"Hi," says the little boy.
It's one of the little boys from across the street! "Hi, what was your name again?"
He tells me and then says he remembers my name. "You found your dog? That's good."
He stands there for a moment and I'm not sure what to do next. I've never owned a home and I've certainly never had a little neighbor boy before.
"It's cold," he says almost inquisitively.
Oh! He wants to come in? "Do you want to..."
"YES!"
So we talked for a while, he got bopped in the face by Cash's nose, I let him hold a few Geckos downstairs. Then he went home and I told him to come back whenever he like.

A few days later Bear and I are about to jump in the shower to start our Saturday agenda and we hear a knock at the door. Bear looks concerned and says, "Why is there knocking? Nobody knocks on our door?!"
It's neighbor boy and he brought his little sister. I open the door and I invite them in. The little girl is adorable, younger than her brother, and she is shy at first but seems to like being over. She wants to see the puppies and the geckos. Bear and him talk about video games (apparently they like the same ones). Then after a longer stay than the first time, with out warning, they run on home.

We have cute little neighbor kids! Future babysitters? Who knows!

They're probably casing the joint. Sneaky kids. Can't trust anyone these days.

The boy is 9 and I think the girl is like 6. I'm not technically a stranger the parents have met me too and they know I'm their neighbor.
