A New Chapter :)

My family is growing. Bear and I are pregnant!! I don't know how far along yet but we will find out in a couple of weeks. We are very excited for the joys of pregnancy ;) and to welcome our new addition soon! The store is doing really well. We have so many cool things, making the place really something to be proud of. Times are hard for everyone but we are still making it. Life is a funny thing though, we keep hoping and praying that the economy will take a turn for the better, especially now that we are going to have a baby...the stock market crashed today. What is going to save us this time from our Great Depression? I don't know what to think about all this. It is an unstable time to be a young, wanting to buy a house, baby on the way, small business owning married couple but I am ready to fight for my life!

The Big Screen

So yesterday I was on the movie set of "Miss January." It is a big production that is being filmed in Farmington Hills, MI. One of the stars from Sex and the City, "Samantha" or Kim Cattrall, is starring in the movie. Well, why was I there you say? Has small town Hannah hitting it big as an actress?

No.

But my lizard is! The producers have been contacting us for months. They wanted pictures of all our lizards and they chose a Bearded Dragon to be in the film. Nothing big, just a fairly small lizard. Oh and yes we did get paid to do this (I didn't recognize the star in pictures so it wasn't for the glamour!). So yesterday I took him over to the movie set. Strange, strange things I saw I will not mention over the internet... It was a very weird set with weird things going on and "movie people" are quite strange, nice but strange. So I waited and watched for about an hour and then I made my Bearded Dragon run about a foot across a green screen probably 15 takes and that was it!

Weird huh?

In other words I am working 7 days a week at the store and taking an online class in animal behavior! Nothing I don't know already yet from normal scientific observation/experiment classes but hopefully it will get interesting. Got a customer gotta go!

This and that

As a new Wayne County resident, seeing my Mayor being sentenced in court is a strange feeling. I watched former Mayor Kwame explaining his charges to the court on live TV this morning. It was all over the news and the radios and continues to be. History is in the making that is for sure but it is a sad day for Detroit.

In other news we are getting kittens at the store today! I'll take them all to the vet tomorrow and get their health certificates, shots, deworming and such and then they will be up for sale in the store! The inspector came this morning to make sure we are up to code (or whatever) for our licensing and...we passed!! I'm excited about it. Soon, hopefully we will get bunnies and ferrets!

Bear's bday was Tuesday and on Sunday night our pastor offered us free tickets for Cedar Point the next day!! We had a blast. Then I made Bear Mom's Famous Lasagna and birthday cake! We had two days off, our first since we got married!! wowsa.

The kittens just got dropped off! 2 boys 1 girl 4th of July babies. There are two black ones and one white and black. They are really cute.

BYE!
